BRIDE KILLED BY A LION.

A despatch from Silver City, Now Mexico, tells a remarkable lion story. For four years Juan Lope/-, a Mexican, has had a pet mountain lion, which has been one of tho objects of interest in that vicinity. Ife shot its mother when it was a suckling, and raised it as a pet. He managed in some way or other to tame it completely, and it was as docile as a cat, and had never shown any signß of its naturally ferocious disposition. It was petted and fondled by visitors, and always slept at the foot of its master's bed, Lopez being very proud of his capture and his taming of it. A week ago, however, Lopez got married, and his bride had it put out of the house and kept in a kennel in the yard. This seemed to injure its temper, and the bride grew so nervous that Lopez, at her solicitation, determined to sell it. He started for town with it in his waggon, but, after a drive of several miles, tho beast jumped out and made for home. Lopez did not return until dark. Upon entering his house he saw nothing of the lion, but found his wife dead on the floor, her chest, right arm, and throat being horribly torn, The lion had killed her and taken to the woods.
