FIGHTING IN AFRICA.
Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, March 9. The Zanzibar correspondent of the Standard says it is reported that natives inflicted a severe defeat on the British East African Company's Sepoys, under the command of Colonel Rogers, of Uitu, killing many of their number, and capturing a Maxim gun. The Sepoys were greatly outnumbered. Zanzibar, March 13. The report that Colonel Rogers had been defeated at Uitu is not true. So far from suffering a reverse, he inflicted a severe defeat on the rebel natives.
