There has lately coma into cultivation a now musk plant (Mimulus compactus). It is of close and compact growth, and flowers freely. The blooms are as large as those of the ordinary type, and the scent equally strong. For bedding it is an improvement on the old spreading form, and for pot culture it is excellent, as it requires no support of any kind, and is most robust and lasting ; when used for bedding it is very effective at a distance; the bed has a golden appearance.
