TASMANIAN EXHIBITION.
PRIZES FOR AUCKLAND.
Auckland exhibitors in the Tasmatiian Exhibition now being held in Launceston have met with very considerable success, and the remarks of the jurors in making their awards have been very flattering indeed.
Messrs. Ehrenfried Brothers, the well-known brewers, have received the following .letter from Mr. Meadows, the New Zealand representative at the exhibition, under date February In "Your beers have just been judged, with most satisfactory results, all being in excellent condition. The awards you gained were as .follow : Light running ale, special first award, gold medal ; stout in bulk, special first award, uokl medal ; bottled ale, first award ; bottled stout, special first award, gold medal. After the judging of local and foreign beers the whole were judged for the championship which you gained. The fact that your product shows to such advantage after so long a journey and numerous transhipments proves it undoubtedly to be of exceptional quality, and your gaining the championship is thought a great deal of." Mr. Frank Williams, (ish merchant, Queenstreet Wharf, has received the following from Mr. F. W. Meadows I have the pleasure of advising you that the jury yesterday awarded you a special award (gold medal) for your preserved fish." Considering that you were showing against the leading European manufacturers this must be most satisfactory to you. The jurors expressed an opinion that for delicacy of flavour, condition, and packing your exhibit was superior to any show n."
