Prut Association.—Electric Teleqraph.—Copyright.
London, February 25. General Booth, in an article in the Contemporary Review, says that the greatest social danger in the Australian colonies is the result of prosperity. He advocates the formation of industrial villages with plenty of provision for recreation. He had been offered large tracts of land in Australia, which when cleared would be worth £20 per acre ; and he considered the (Government ought to advance the money necessary, taking the land in security. If compelled to do so, he would borrow the money at per cent., and then transfer the surplus population to Australia and elsewhere.
