The Union Steamship Company's Fiji >teamer Ovalau arrived from Wellington early yesterday morning, and was busily enfaged during the day taking in cargo for lii. She leaves this evening. The Shaw-Savill and Albion Co. direct steamer Tainui, 5031 tons, Captain E J. Evans, arrived at this port at noon yesterday from London via way ports and Wellington, and was berthed at the Roilway Wharf. She left Plymouth on December 31, Teneriffc on January sth, Capetown on January 20th, JHobart on February oth, and Wellington on Monday last. She had an uneventful passage from London. After discharging London consignments she loads some cargo here, principally frozen meat, and leaves again tomorrow probably, for London via the South She is timed to leave the colony on March 5, and is due in London on April 14 The direct steamer Duke of Westminster arrived in harbour yesterday forenoon from London via .Southern ports, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Co. Her last port was Napier, which was left on Wednesday morning. She brings about 300 tons general cargo for this port, and after taking in a small quantity of fruit, she will proceed to VVaitara to load frozen meat for London. Since her last visit to the port considerable alterations have been made to the vessel both in her cargo carrying capacity and in the machinery department. The Pitcairn, mission schooner, left yesterday for Norfolk Island. Messrs. Huddart Parker and Co.'s new Steamship, intended for the Hobart trade, will probably be launched next month, and will' be due In Australian waters about June next, the steamships Warrimoo and Miowera, as our readers are already aware, are intended to trade between the ports of Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand, and Hobart, and are due In these waters about October next. The cutter Toviot arrived from Mangawal yesterday, with gum and general produce. The Northern Co.'s steamer Rotomahana being delayed at the Thames, will no arrive till early thin morning.
