VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
" A " Battery.—Last night was tho regular drill night of tho " A " Battery, but as it was also the night fixed on for the annual meeting of the company, there was no parade, and the members assembled in tho large room of the shed. There was a fair attendance, and Captain Geddes presided. The business was of tho usual character. The financial statement was submitted, dicussed and approved, and a finance committee, as well as several other committees, were appointed for the ensuing year. New Zealand Rifle Association.--It will be seen by advertisement in another column, that Captain Kohn, the Auckland member of the New Zealand Rifle Association Council, convenes a meeting of members of the Association, to bo held at tho Drill-shed, to-night. The business is in regard to the annual rifle firing of the association, which is to be held in Wellington, and members of rifle clubs and civilians who > intend to compete, are invited to attend.
