Alleged Larceny as a Bailee.— Ann Mooney was charged with the larceny as a bailee of one shirt, two feather pillows - \ and covers, one sheet, one quilt, of the total value of £1 3s, the property of Martha Lindsay, at Auckland, on January 30fch. Accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. if On the application of Sergeant-Major Pratt) the case was remanded until next day. No Lights. — Henry Schumaker was charged with driving a spring cart on the evening of February 3 without lights. Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, and was fined 5s and costs. The Bench gave defendant a week in which to pay the fine. Stray Horses.—Charles Frederick Reed was charged that on February 3 he allowed a horse, his property, to wander at large in Queen-street, ttorthcote. Mr. Whitaker appeared for the defendant, and pleaded guilty to the charge. A fine of Is and costs was imposed. William Smith was charged that on February 3 he allowed two horses to be at large in Queen-street, Northcote. Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, and was fined Is for each horse and costs.
