[liY TELEGRAPH. —I'KKSS ASSOCIATION.] Invercargill, Thursday. On Tuesday an immense quantity of rain fell in the Lumsden district. Tho township was inundated for a time, some damage being done to the gardens, stores, and dwellings. Tho Dome Bridge, on the Kingston line, was partially washed out, and it will probably be a week before traffic is possible over it. Dunedin, Thursday. Tho damage to the railway line on the Taieri section has been sufficiently repaired to allow of trains running to-morrow. On the Outram lino, however, tho water is still three feet deep on the railway line. The water on the plain is rapidly subsiding, and by Saturday probably some idea of the damage may be gathered.
