The cargo was valued at £33,000 and the vessel at £10,000. A private telegram received in Auckland yesterday states that the cargo of the Star of Erin was insured as follows :—China Traders, £7000; New Zealand, £4913: ' National, £3200; South British, £3000; ' British and Foreign, £3000; Victoria, ' £2000 ; Melbourne "Lloyds. £2000 ; Stan ' dard. £1500; Canton. £1300; United, ' £1000: Alliance, £1000; Australian Alii- ' anco, £750 ; Union, £50'): total, £31,1(3.3. l The only hope of salvage is that a portion ' of the cargo may be washed ashore. c
