[ WELLINGTON. [ January Arrived The barque Lizzie .; llr £ y V. from Auckland (at heads); barque u. C. u eutworth, from Newcastle. Sailed : 8. s. Omapere.for the South ; s.s. Maugana, for Nelson. Entered outwards : Mahinapua, for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Oneluuiga. Passengers:—Misses Swam, Pitama Enoka, Mesdames Davis and Wise. Messrs. Davis, Matier Enoka. Honey, and Parsons. The barque Inverurie has been cleared by the Health Ofticer, and was towed into the stream from quarantine ground this morning. She will leave for Napier in a day or two.
PORT CHALMERS. January 30.—Sailed yesterday : S.s. Fifeshire, aptain Cuthbert, for London, with 6629 bales wool, 4502 sacks grain, 109 casks tallow and pelts, 88 bags hides and bones. 909 cases cheese, 734 packages butter, 17 packages sundries, 15,027 carcases mutton, 2-> cases kidneys. Passengers : Colonel Eyll, G. A., Messrs. B. C. Mountier, G. C.Crawford.
NEWCASTLE. January 30. —Sailed, Pactole for Auckland.
THE STEAM YACHT ST. GEORGE! . Wellington, January 30.—The stef * yacht St. George arrived this morning. Slil i an auxiliary screw yacht of 1000 tons, and if, I trip round the world with her owner, p\ E. J. Wythes, and a party of friends. consisting of Dr. Fyfe, Messrs. XV. P. Blencombe, J. P. Walker, R. A. Londley, and Captain Smirke, of the Hritish Army. She belongs to the Royal Yacht Squadron, is barquentine ringed, and carries a crew of 46 men. Captain Tut ton is in command, and he has with him Mr. G. Cobby, chief officer, who has visited New Zealand on several occasions, the last time in the barque Alastor. Mr. C. Rood is second officer, Mr. I C. West wood is chief engineer, and Mr. W. Brazier second. The St. George left Cowes on 19th January last year, stoppages being made at Gibraltar, Malta. Alexandria, Port Said, Suez. Malacca, Colombo, Calcutta, Singapore, Hongkong, and various places in Japan. One month was spent at Colombo, three weeks in Singapore, and lessor length of time at other places. From Yokohama the vessel sailed for Vancouver, making the trip in '-2G days. Of the distance between the two places she sailed '2VXI miles and steamed the rest. After remaining at San Francisco for three weeks she visited the South Sea Islands. Suva being her last port ot call. She left there eight days ago, and came straight on to Wellington. She will remain here about three weeks, and afterwards visit the chief ports of the colony. After Icaring New Zealand she will go to Australia, aud thence will return to England.
