Yesterday afternoon Mrs. Dr. Burnaby gave a medical lecture to women at the Wesley Hall, speaking for about an hour and a quarter. There was a large attendance. The annual report of the New Zealand Friendly Societies Mutual Fidelity Guarantee Association shows that the accumulated fund at the end of 1891 was £332, being an increase of £115 for the year. There are 162 lodges insured with the Association, the amount of their policies aggregating £12,950. The officers for the current year are Messrs. S. Waters (chairman), J. Edwards (secretary), H. Chappsl (treasurer). The attendance was very fair at the City Hall last evening, when the Hugo's New Idea Minstrel Troupe repeated their performance. A Norwegian giantess, Bft 4in in height, and only 15 years of age, is on exhibition in London. An excursion to the Huia is announced in our advertising columns as to take place by the 8.8. Manukau, which will leave the Onehunga Wharf on Friday next, on arrival of the train leaving Auckland at 8.40 a.m. Vieitors to the Fulls (about I.J miles) will be landed at the wharf. Only a limited number of tickets can be sold. Arrangements are made for returning in time to catch the 7.15 train. Tenders are invited for the reinstatement of Messrs. YYingate and Co.'s premises up to Thursday, 4th March.
