NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE CONFERENCE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Di.'NKDIN, Thursday. Thy. Con.ferenc) of the New Zealand Alliance Conference of the New Zealand Alliance and Local Temperance Bodies was held this afternoon, Sir William Fox presiding. The following resolutions were carriod : — 11 1. That it is expedient that the modes of operation hitherto employed fay the Alliance executive be continued. 2. This Conference seed no other way of meeting strictly local demands upon temperance effort and liberality than by the united action of all the local temperance workers, and their raising sepante funds to meet local requirements. 3. It is expedient that the Alliance continue to raise funds as hitherto only for colonial, as distinct from purely local work, and that in the opinion of this Conference the Alliance should favourably consider any proposal for financial relations which may bo mutually a< JvariUcr from any local temperance organisation. 4. This Conference cordially i commends the colonial and Legislative j work of the Alliance, to generous moral j & r, d financial support, and considers that • he inciPi cordial relations should be mainlined between all local temperance bodies . the Alliance." i
