The first edition of Mrs. Grimwood's book (1500) was sold out before it appeared, as a very great and widely-spread interest is, of course, felt in the " Three Years of Lite in Manipur." The Queen, who has expressed the greatest admiration of Mrs. Grimwood's heroic conduct, has a copy. Mrs. Grimwood, who is living with her sisters in London, is still far from strong, and continues to feel the lameness caused by the neglected sprain during her march from Manipur. There were in the lock-up last evening two persons on charges of drunkenness ; a boy named Jones on a charge of larceny of a cruet, value 22s Gd, the property of Richard Mason, and a youth named Alfred Tilly, for disorderly behaviour in Karangahape Road, who was subsequently bailed Out. * ; .
