COMPLAINT AGAINST THE SHOW COMMITTEE.
TO THE EDITOR. —At the last cattle show I entered a heifer under the short-horned class, No. 63 (1 year and under 18 months), I also supplied her pedigree. vVhat was the result? Why, my beast was put to compete with cattle older, and not of the same class. Now, sir, is this the way to secure confidence to exhibitors, placing exhibits in a class to which they do not belong, although I protested against her being put to compete with beasts from 2 to 3 years old, and not of the shorthorned breed. This heifer was shown at the 1890 show, with her dam. Her dam took first prize in her class, i.e., short-horns, but this year, beasts without a pedigree were given prizes. Trusting that this short statement of facts will have the effect of causing the committee to take Letter care that exhibits are properly classed in future.— am, etc., Wm. Edgecombe. Westetn Springs, November 13,1891. '
