A CORRECTION.
TO TIIE EDITOR. Sip.,—l am not concerned to reply to every anonymous writer who refers to me in your columns, but misrepresentation should be corrected in the interests of simple truth. In this morning's Herald a correspondent who, apparently ironically, signs himself Justice/ states that I asserted in my letter, "The Ethics of the Land Question,®' that because land was a necessity of human existence, therefore private property in land was wrong. Anybody can see by 'referring to that letter that I never asserted anything of the kind. I bast dmy arguments on three facts : 1. That land was absolutely necessary to human existence. 2. That the surface of the earth was absolutely limited in area. 3. That the population of the globe was continually increasing. Anyone of these facts without the others would not have sup« ported my argument at all. Your correspondent in quoting a question repeated in my last letter, says it is not worth disputing whether or not 1' asked this questiou in my first letter. He is quite right; it is not worth disputing, the point, as anyone by turning to my first letter can see the question therein set down in the very words he now quotes.— am, &c., Gerald L. Peacockk.
