RAILWAY COLLISION.
TWENTY-FOUR DEATHS.
AN ENGLISH ARTIST KILLED. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Madrid, September 24. By a railway collision at Burgos, in Northern Spain, fourteen persons were killed, and 24 wounded. The collision was caused bv the express from San Sebastian, which was travelling at the rate of 41 miles per hour, running into the ordinary train from Madrid, going 31 miles. The accident took place at midnight. The scene was of a shocking description. The artist, Mr. Seymour Lucas, who was among the victims, was on his way to the Escurial to obtain material for ati Academy picture. The disaster was caused by the blunder of a telegraph clerk, who has been arrested. ' A, Later. The list of those killed in the railway accident at Bergos has swollen to 24. Among the number are Mr. Seymour Lucas, A.R.A., the painter, and several Spanish noblemen and Englishmen. '
