THE SIBBIN FUND.
The sudden bereavemenb which overtook Mrs. Thomas G. Sibbin in the loss of her husband while playing football last week, has appealed strongly to the public sympathy, and offers of and projects for assisting her and her young family in her hour of need are multiplying fast. The following influential committee has been appointed to direct these well-maanb efforts, and to receive all funds accruing therefrom, with a view to judicious and permanent investment on her behalf Mr. E. \V. Alison, Rev. James Hill, Messrs. C. C. McMillan, J. B. Coates, J. M. Brigham, A. E. Devore, Wm. McCullough, Alex. Watson, M. Murchie, B. J. Esam, M. Niccol, A. Harvey (sen.), A. Harvey (jun.,) JTenry Parker, J. C. Webster, Bowerman, J. W. Askew, W. R. Goudie, Roberb Duder, Andrew Fraser, T. Henderson, and G. H. Dixon. Mr. J. F. Logan is secretary and treasurer, and would be glad to be communicated with by all desirous or intending to help in the good cause. In addition to the schemes already mentioned, Professor W. M. Carrollo and Mr. T. JNI. Jackson and others have proffered their assistance, while the Caledonian Society have communicated with Mr. C. C. Dacre, secretary of the Association footballers, expressing their willingness to join in any benefit entertainment. The committee are desirous of consulting with all these persons proffering assistance in order that any benefits agreed upon may be arranged so as not to clash and to produce the best monetary result. Yesterday Mr. C. C. Dacre: received the following message from the secretary of the Wellington Football Association —"Wellington, Thursday. Association sympathise deeply Sibbin's accident; if. needy circumstances, will raise subscription Alexander Henderson."
