A NUISANCE.
TO DR. A. O. KNIGHT, PER FAVOUR OF THE HERALD. •; . Sir,—ln reply to your letter in this morning issue re above, are you not aware that any resolution of the City Council is carried by a majority of the Councillors ; that the site of the waterworks urinal was selected by such majority, that in the face of the protest myself and others entered, the dirty thing is; still continued by such majority; and that as such majority must therefore consist of persons who, reasoning from their conduct in this matter, . have no sense of either cleanliness or decency, any appeal to them is useless.—l am, etc., Wm. Thorne. -S.— Several members of the Council asked me to get up a petition for removal of the ugly thing. A petition to teach the majority of the City Council cleanliness. Good heavens, what next ? ,
