FOOTBALL.
WAIROA BANGERS V. BOMBAY FOOTBALL CLUB. This match was played at Wairoa South on Saturday, the 18th instant. The Bombay team journeyed to Wairoa by Mr. R. S. White's 'bus, arriving at Clevedon about 3 p.m. Soon afterwards the match was started, and resulted in favour of the Wairoa Rangers by seven points to one for the visitors. The following are the names of the Bombay team : J. Wilson (captain), R. Gillan, J. Lowrie, R. " Dornthwaite, H. Lawer, J. Callaghan, J. Doming, O. Coming, R. Harrison, W. Wilron, G. McLeod, R. S. White, J. Feaghey, W. Bremner, A. Brownhill. Wairoa Rangers: 3. Luke (captain), W. Luke, H. Luke, A. Kerr, G. Alexander, W. Hoye, L. Smith, A. S. Creighton, S. Shaw, H. Sutherland, J. Ballantine, J. Hamilton, W. Stephens, W. Hyde, G. Noble. For the visitors W. Brem ner very cleverly secured one try for his team, and for the local men W. Luke got a try, from which he got a penalty kick, which he converted into a goal. J. BallaDtyne, one try, converted into a goal by W. Luke. W. Hyde, one try. After the match was finished the visitors were entertained by the Rangers to luncheon laid out in Mr. A. Noble's barn. —[Own Correspondent.]
