NORMANBY AND MANAIA. The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report:—On Monday, the 20th July, we held a sale near Normanby of stock and farm implements, and satisfactory prices were realised. Oα Wednesday, the 22ua, our usual sale at Mattaia took place. Our entries were smaller than usual, some lots that were advertised not coming forward, though other lota filled their places. The quality of the stock waa quite up to the average, the attendance was large, and bidding more spirited than on uny previous occasion, and every line of stock waa quitted 1 at prices much in favour of the vendors. ' During the week our private stiles of both cattle and sheep have been the largest we have had since the union started. The way tho district is being drained of both fat and store stock going South, it is evident that as soon as spring cornea a great ecarcicy will be felt. We quote -.-—Two and a-half to three-year-old steers, £4 la Gd to £4 14s; two to two and a-half year-old ateers, £3 10s to £3 18s Gd; ]8 months to two-year-old steer 3, £210 a to £219 a Cd ; yearling steers, £1 10s to £1 13s Cd ; cowM, springers, £3 lCs to £3 15s ; empty cows, £2 17s to £3 ua; slieop, shorn lambs, 9a JOd. Messrs. Budge asp Goon's Report.—We held out , usual Maiiaia sale on the 21st July, when there was a large attendance of the public. Bidding was spirited for all classes of cattle, more especially young stock. Owing to t>he weather, only one lot of ewes came forward. Three hundred head of cattle were yarded, realising the following prices :— Three-year-old steers, £3 15s to £4 7e 6d ; 12 to 18 months' mixed sexes, £2 2s to £2 48 ; two-year-old heifers, 37a to £2 11b 6d; fat cows, £3 5s to £3 16a; dairy stock, £3 \o £5; ewes in lamb, 10s skl.
