ACCIDENT AT DARGAVILLE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Dargavillk, Wednesday. At six o'clock yesterday evening a gumdigger named Brophy was walking with his wife along the Kaihu Valley Railway Wharf, when stumbling in the dark, Mrs. Brophy fell into the river where a strong tide was running. Mr. Brophy, though unable to swim, jumped after her, but was promptly rescued by Mr. Davy, who fortunately was at hand- Mr. Griffiths, mate of the B.s. Kina, put off in a boat and picked up Mrs. Brophy in a prostrated conditio,l. After some trouble animation was restored, and no serious results ore anticipated.
