The weather was everything that could be desired, especially for the return home in a country, district, and the hall, though large, was perfectly packed with ■an appreciative audience, whose verdict appeared to be for imperative encores on the part of the kind :■':■} j artistes. The pupils of the school acquitted, ■„ themselves very creditably/ especially in reci-'-; ■"-' tation, and' the pretty chorus,'"Spring, 3 .■.!.'•;. giving evidence of the careful training re* ' ; '• ceived ;at the ' hands of: Miss Mulkere, who played the accompaniments throughout with -J considerable musical taste. 'The Howick' and Pakuranga Fife and Drum Band, led byiSM Mr. Smith, rendered valuable service, and all B|| spoke in high praise of their excellent playing. The hall looked quite bright and cheerful, owing to the 'admirable lighting, and the decorative designs with choice nikau.
