London, April 30. The Bank of England returns published to-day show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £12,920,000. The proportion of the reserve to liabilities is 34.80.

New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 103, : 3£ ditto, 98. _ New Zealand longberried wheat, 455, market weaker ; New Zealand wheat on passage, 443 6d : barley, 31s ; oats, 26s (id; beans, 375. Hemp : Wellington, fair quality, averages £20 15s. Canterbury lambs, 4fd. Mutton is unchanged. Eeef, forequarters, 3fd; hindquarters, 4id. The bulk of South Australian wheat offered for sale was bought in. Victorian wheat, 44s 3d, restricted. Sugar, best German beet, 13s 6d, steady ; Java, 15s. No. 1 best Scotch pigiron f.o.b. in the Clyde, 45s 3d.
