[BY TELEGRAPH.—I'RKSS ASSOCIATION. J Greymouth. Friday. At a public meeting this evening to consider the obstacles being thrown in the way of the Midland Railway Company, in connection with the Lake Brunner deviation, a resolution was carried unanimously that tho meeting views with much apprehension tho difficulty thai has arisen between the Government and the company, and is strongly of opinion that the agreement entered into by the people of Kumara, Greenstone, and Grey County with the company should be adhered to, especially as the Grey county and the general Government are alike satisfied with that arrangement, and accepted £3700 as the basis of agreement.
