Calcutta, April 29. Three columns of the British force advanced on the Manipuris' position, but on arrival found it deserted. The magazine was blown up, and the palace Backed and wrecked. Within the palace enclosure were found the heads of the British officials murdered at the outbreak of the revolt.
The usurper Jobraj and the chief Senaputty, the leaders of the revolution, escaped.
Lieutenant Grant was severely wounded in the neck. In the fight at Bishenpore the British loss was one native officer only.
