GREAT FIRE IN CHICAGO.

DAMAGES TWO million DOLLARS. A MUSEUM DESTROYED. Press Association— Telegraph.—Copyright. New York, April 12. Smith's furniture warehouse and the Dime Museum, in Chicago, have been destroyed by fire. The loss is estimated at two million dollars. Eight hundred firemen prevented the flames from spreading to the adjoining buildings. The audience in the Haymarket Theatre of the Dime Museum, escaped in safety from the burning building, through policemen maintaining order with loaded revolvers. Many of the wild animals and monsters confined in the museum perished in the flames.
