AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Auckland, April 14, 1801.

ENGLISH. [PROM OUR OWN lIRESPONDENT.] London. March C. Messrs. Birkett, Spurling anil Co. report under date 4th instant:— has the month of Fobruary closed with such a " boom" in the wheat trade as last month witnessed. This improved State of matters is, of course, duo to the increased demand, especially for white wheat, for French account, owing to the bad appearance of her wheat fleldi ; coupled with a fa!ling-ott' of home-grown wheat, and with a disposition on the part of the United Kingdom to replenish its short stocks, sellers have had no difficulty ill moving off their cargoes at daily increasing prices; and although ■a slight pause in the inquiry seems to be following the large trade which has recently been done, holders are very firm in their demands, Adelaide and Melbourne.—The stocks of old are verv exhausted, and factors make full prices, say Sis to 40. per 49t)lbs, ex granary. Parcels of new made 40s up to 41s Bel par 49tilbs. To arrive a considerable business has been done at dally improving values. The Drumparlt and Brenhilda December bills of lading made 33a 3d, and FebruaryMarch 38s. For a handy cargo on passage, Spirit of the Dawn, the long price of 39s yd has been paid for an Irish port. .. . New Zealand.—Arrivals have been small, ana, with reduced granaried stocks, factors have had a good trade at. enhanced values, so that we quote long-berried, 30' to 40s ; short-berried, 37s 6d to 38s (id, up to 39s for pearly, per 4901b5, bulked ex granary. Of barley consignments continue to arrive, but the trade is a most disappointing one, as malstera hold large stock-s of cheip Hnglish. We quote New Zealand nominally, 30s to 32s per 4481b5. Of oats the shipments and arrivals are liberal, and completely outstrip the demand, which is very slack at lower figures, say, 18s ed to 19s (id per 32011 is, up to 243 to 25s per 3841b5. Cocksfoot grass we quote at 56s to 05s per 1121os. Means, 32s to 33s per 504 lbs. Pease, 35s to 40a, according to description. Off coast there have be«n no arrivals of wheat, but a cargo of old, just shipped, sold at 87s 6d per iSOJbs, c,f.i., to U. K. or Continent, Flour.—With a better inquiry, especially or bakers' grades, prices are about ed per sack in sellers' favour. For fo ward delivery there is not much doing, as American miliars are too stiff in their pretensions. We quote superfine Australian, on the spot, 25s to 20s (id; patents, 28s to 295; tines and households, nominally 20s to 2is; New Zealand patents, 24s to 255; superfine, 20s to 21s, according to quality; California!;, 28s to 295; English, 23s 6d to -26s Cd, up to 30s ; American, IBs to 27s 6iJ. up to. 31s Cd for the best brauds. These quotations are per 2SOlb.
