The Toronto Board of Trade has unanimously resolved in favour of Great Britain adopting a discriminating tariff in respect of ' colonial food products, and also urging on Sir J. Macdonald, Premier of Canada, to ask the Marquis of Salisbury to summon a conference to discuss the question of establishing close trade relations between the mother country and the colonies.
