THE POSTAL CONFERENCE. London, April 6. • Sir E. C. N. Braddon (Agent-General for Tasmania), Sir Graham Berry (Victoria), Sir J. F. Garrick (Queensland), and Sir F. Dillon Bell (IN ew Zealand) have been appointed to represent thenrespective governments at the Postal Conference which opens in Vienna in May.
NEW ZEALAND APPLES IN LONDON. London, April 6. A shipment of New Zealand apples per R.M.s. Tongariro arrived in splendid condition. They were put up to auction at Covent Garden, and brought from 15s to 20s per case (containing a bushel),

London, April 6. The Colonising Committee set up by the House of Commons has reported that the condition of the United Kingdom does not warrant a general scheme of emigration.

• THE BEHRING SEA DISPUTE. Washington, April 6. • Negotiations for the settlement ol the Behring Sea fishery dispute on reciprocal bases have abruptly terminated, owing to the absence of President Harrison.
THE VICTORIAN LOAN. London, April 6. The Victorian loan is quoted at a premium of five-eighths per cent. Investors are making inquiries with regard to the loan, ana Sir Graham Berry, Agent-General, expects that it will realise between £98 and £99.
