THE HERALD'S EDUCATION ARTICLE.
[BY telegraph.—PßESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Wednesday. At a meeting of tho Nelson Education Board to - day the Auckland Herald's article was considered and a report adopted to the effect that the charges in the articles one and all are so ludicrously impossible to what is going on in this district that it is hard to make any serious rejoinder. The charges were then referred to in detail, and the report set forth that the conditions alleged did not obtain in Nelson. In reference to circular re Otago Trades and Labour Council's resolution the Board passed the following resolution, That this Board cannot recognise that the Otago Trades and Labour Council is the proper body to advise Education Boards, as to the selection of school books, a matter to which the .Nelson Board has hitherto directed much of its time and attention."
