By favour of the Hon. tho Native Minister (Mr. Cadman) I am enabled to forward to you the official returns of tho Northern Maori election, which were received by the Government this evening. They are as follows:— Eperama Te Mutu Kapa ... ... 642 Timoti Puhipi ... ~. ... 51H WiKatene ... 300 Haki Rewiti ... '. 194 Renata Te Kawatupu 7 Kipa Te Whatana 1 The returning officer appends the following note: —"Te Eperam?. is a member of the Te Aurouri tribe, and lives afc Te Kao, near the North Cape. According to the information available here about him he avows himself as determined to carry on the work of Sydney Taiwhanga, and is likely, to bo a strong supporter of the Government."
