THE ART BOOKS OF THE MACKELVIE COLLECTION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln reference to the above hooks Ido not think that the present arrangement between Messrs. Upton and Payton a very satisfactory one, especially to art students. As the Elam School is only open in the day time, and then only between the hours of ten and twelve in the morning, and two and four in the afternoon, very few people can spare these hours to read books. At the present time there are very few books in the Free Library on art, and if the above books were placed their access could be gained to them at any time. I also think the students of the Elam School are very well provided for, without getting the books, from which other art students are debarred. — am, &c., Art Student.
