London, February 3. Silver has risen to 46f d per ounce. At the wool sales there was keen competition. Prices remain firm. Money is advancing owing to continued withdrawal of gold for export. Three months' bills are 2£ per cent. Per New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. London, February 3. Wool. — The sales progressed firmly. Since the close of last sales superior greasy merino has advanced nearly £d per lb; fine greasy crossbred and coarse scoured crossbred have advanced $d per lb since close of last sales. Fine scoured crossbred has advanced |d to Id per lb since close of last sales; other descriptions unchanged. Up to date 77,000 balos have been sold. Wheat.— The market is dull. New Zealand wheat f.a.q. to arrive iron ship is worth c.i.f. 37s per 480 lbs, January-Feb-ruary bill of lading. Other quotations unchanged.
