BANKRUPTCY.
J. T. Smith.A meeting of tho creditors of J. T. Smith, publican, St. Heliers Bay, lapsed yesterday for want of a quorum. Gkorce Hulmk.—A petition to be adjudged a bankrupt was filed yesterday by George Hulme, butcher, Ellerslie.
James (Dittos.ln his statement before the Oilicial Assignee yesterday, Jas. Oifctos, of the (inn of B. (iittos and Sons, said that he had read over his brother's statement relative to their joint estate, and he believed the same to be essentially correct. He had nothing to add thereto. With regard to his private estate, in-preparing the .schedule of assets and liabilities lie had returned his debts as nil, but had since found that there were two accounts due, amounting to less than £5. His assets consisted of a debt of £250, due to him by the firm for money lent in October, 1885, and the household furniture, valued at £15. The £250 referred to was raised on his life policy. There had been an arrangement made as to the payment of interest, but none had been paid.
