AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Auckland Racing Club was held yesterday afternoon, when a large amount of business was transacted. It was decided to endorse the disqualification of three months, passed by the Gisborne Racing Club on the mare Satanella, and her jockey, James Benson. It was also decided that ail horses, owners, and jockeys who took part at the Matamata and Hunga meetings on the 2Gth and 27th of December should be disqualified. The following programmes have ween passed: Pakuranga Racing Club (February 28), Te Puke Racing Club (February 5), Waiapu (March 13). The Helensville Racing Club s programme was passed subject to certain alterations. . It will be remembered that at the Spring Meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club, when Ringtail won the Maiden Plate, a protest was entered against his being declared the winner on the ground that he had won at an unregistered meeting at Coromandel. This protest was disallowed by the stewards; but Air. Mainland, the owner of Ma Boughal, wrote to the committee of the Metropolitan Club on the subject, with the result that they have now ruled that the horse should have been disqualified. On this finding the Takapuna Jockey Club will have to pay the stakes of the race" a second time.
TAKAPUNA SUMMER MEETING. Owing to the length of the programme, the stewards of the Takapuna Jockey Club have wisely decided to start the first race to-mor-row at half-past twelve, which will allow of the meeting being got over in good time. As is not unfrcquently the case when there is a great deal of grumbling over handicaps the principal events of the first day's racing at Takapuna are extremely hard to solve. The Takapuna Cup promises to a field of at least nine, and some idea of its open character may be gathered from the fact that threes to one were yesterday on offer. As usual, the fine band under the leadership of Mr. Impey, will render the musical portion of the programme, which will add considerably to the afternoon's pleasure. With regard to tiie question as to whether Ingorina had incurred a penalty for the Takapuna Cup by his victory in the Whangarei Racing Club Handicap, and which was referred to the committee of the Auckland Racing Club, that body has decided that the horse is not entitled to a penalty, and his weight therefore remains at 7st 91b. The Jumper Sentinel arrived yesterday to fulfil his engagements at the meeting. Air. Wynyard notifies in another column that the weights in connection with the principal events of the second day's racing will be declared by ten a.m. on * riday, and acceptances for same will be due at four p.m. on the same day.
