Lowes and lor.ns' Keport.—At their ( last stock sale the yards were well-filled with stock I of all classes, and all selling, prices continuing firm. Sheep showing a slight rise, but cattle were at last sale's low rates. Horses were slow of sale, unless it was for good useful farm sorts. Pigs brought good lines, owing to the scarcity in the market. Large fat wethers brought 10s to 10s 6d, or 2d per lb ; fat ewes, Ss 3d to 9s for heavy, and 7s 6(1 for light. Store wethers was in good demand, from 8s Ca to 9s 6d ; store ewes, 6s Cd to 7s ; breeding ewes, according to age and quality, ranged from 5s 6d to is ed ; fat lambs, 6s 6tl to 7s Gd ; store lambs, 5s to Ss9d. In cat tle, fat bullocks, light, £4 10s ; fat cows, £3 5s to £3 17s 6(1, or about lis and lis Cd per lOOlbs respectively; store bullocks, 60s to 70s ; store cows and heifers, 35s to 45s : young stock, from 1 year to IS months, 30s to 40s ; calves, 15s ; dairy stock, good cows, 60s to 70s; ordinary, 40s to 60s; draught horses, young and staunch, £18 to £22 ; old, £$ to £10 ; hacks, nominal. Pigs, porkers, 20s to 255; stores, 14s; weaners, 7s 6d. In grain, few transactions have been done, at : Wheat, 3s ; oats. Is lOd ; barley, Ss; sheaf chaff, 60s; straw, 30s to 35s ; bacon and hams, 6d to 7d; cheese, sd; fowls, 2s to 2s 6d ; ducks, 3s 6d. Grass seeds, cocksfoot, according to sample, .from 3d to 4d per lb; rye, according to sample, 4s to as oer bushel MANAIA. TheEgmontFarmkrs' union, Limited, report: —At our fortnightly sale at Manaia we had the yards fairly well tilled with cattle, a good quantity of sheep also coining forward. The attendance was fairly good, but the bidding was not so brisk as usual, and at the close of the sale a few lines of •sheep anil cattle remained unsold, though fair money was offered for every pen of stock at the hammer. We quote prices as under ;—Forward Hillocks, £4 10s ; three-year-old steers, £3 7s 6d to £3 14s ; two-year-old steers, £2 10s ; fat cows and l.eifers, £2 15s to £3 ss; yearling steers, £1 8s; empty cows, £2 5s ; ewes, old, tts 2d to 6s 3d ; shorn hoggets, 9s 6d ; lambs, culls, 3s 2d ; lambs, 7s.
