ANNUAL CHURCH MEETINGS.

CHRIST CHURCH (ELLERSLIE). The annual meeting of the parishioners of Christ Church, Ellerslie, was held on Monday evening last, the Rev. James Marehall in the chair. The report of the vestry for the past year was most satisfactory. It showed a large increase in the attendance at the public services of the Church. There was a corresponding increase in the offertories. A vestry had been built; the ventilation of the church improved, and an instalment (£25) of the debt on the Church had been paid, leaving a balance to credit at the close of the yean In addition to the improvement* carried out by the vestry, a handsome font had been presented to the Church in memory of the lute Mr. Albin Martin. The Chairman and several others who were present, expressed their satisfaction ab the improved position of the church. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Carter, people's churchwarden, for his unwearied zeal and energy in all matters relating to the church ; to the organist and choir for their services, and to the parishioners and friends who had by direct contributions or by their labours of love, assisted in placing the church in its present prosperous position. A vote of thanks bo the chairman terminated the proceedings. The office-bearers appointed for the present year arc: Mr. David Nolan, minifter's warden ; and Mr. Robert, Carter, people's warden; vestrymen, Mr. Theo. Cooper, Colonel Dawson, Messrs. McFnrland, and W. Hall. WAIPU PRESBYTERIAN. The annual meeting of tho congregation of the Waipu Presbyterian Church was held on the J 6th inst. The attendance was small. The meeting being en Hod for four p.m., many were.unable to attend at such an early hour. The balance-sheet was read iind adopted. The balance wan unfortunately on tho wrontc side, bub the treasurer explained that the whole of the expected receipts for the year had not yeb come in, but, when all dues were received both sides of the account would be about equal. The retiring committee was then re-elected, and the meeting dispersed.—[Own Correspondent].
