A few days ago some splendid samples of English gooseberries wore oil exhibition at Mr. Cliffs store, which were grown by Mr. A. S. .Jackson, who has been successful in raising red currants to a bearing age. Others also have produced some of the small fruits, proving that, with proper culture, they can be grown with satisfactory results. As regards orchard fruits, apples seem very plentiful, but other fruit is very scarce this year, probably owing to the strong winds which prevailed in the early spring.—[Paparo Correspondent.] Miss Mary Anderson, our beautiful cousin, is good enough to say of Pears' soap : —" I have used it for two years with the greatest satisfaction, for I find it the very best."
