A general meeting of the Auckland Gasworks Employees Union was held 011 Tuesday evening in Sexton's Hall, Karangalmpo Road, when there was a very full attendance. After the usual routine business and correspondence had been got through, the notice of motion re rule 11 of the union, was taken into consideration, when it was resolved that the entrance fee bo reduced from £1 to '2s 6d ; also, that the fixed contributions be altered to a graduated scale of payments in proportion to the amount of wages received by the members of the union. £2 was voted from the general fund in aid of the Huntly miners, and a subscription list was ordered to be opened for their further assistance. The delegates to the Trades and Labour Council were authorised to strenuously support the movement for federation of all unions affiliated with that body.
