IRRIGATION IN VICTORIA. Melbourne, November 20. When Parliament meets the Government will introduce an Irrigation Loan Bill of £350,000, to meet the obligations of the late Government. THE RUAPEHU AT HOB ART. Hobart, November 2d. Arrived : R.M.s. Ruapehu, from London, via the Cape, at eight o'clock this evening. She sails again at eleven o'clock to-morrow morning for Port Chalmers. The Ruapehu brings 39 passengers for Australian ports, and 123 for New Zealand. THE FEDERAL CONVENTION. Melbourne, November 20. Mr. Munro, the Premier, has decided that the 2nd of March, next year, will be the most table day for the assembling of the Federal Convention at Sydney. THE CABLE SUBSIDY QUESTION. .\IKt,BonRNE. November 20. The Cabinet has decided to recommend the other colonies to accept the terms of the Eastern Extension Company for a reduction of cable rates, and provide a guarantee for a year, irrespective of New Zealand and Queensland, -which are unwilling to join. TII E»SE PA RATION OF QUEENSLAND. Brisbane, November 20. _ The debate on Sir S. Griffiths resolutions, dividing the colony into three provinces, was adjourned for a fortnight, practically shelving the proposals. Sir S. Griffiths complained of the attitude of the Northern and Central members, and considers it hardly worth while to continue the debate. SHIPPING. Sydney, November 26. Arrived : Edith, brig, from Dunedin, 49 days out. She experienced a succession of gales. Aratapu and Handa Isle, from Ivaipara; Pendlo Hill, from Lyttel ton. Sailed : R.M.s. Mariposa, for San Francisco, via Auckland; Eillan Donan, for Auckland ; Firth of Dornoch, for Lyttelton. Melbourne, November 26. Arrived : Morayshire, from London. Sailed : Killarney, for New Zealand. Newcastle, November 26. Sailed : Adelaide and Natal Queen, for Auckland. Pout Pipje, November 2G. Arrived : Sister, from the Bluff.
