The Union leaders are puzzled at the Australians returning £500 which was cabled as a loan at the termination of the strike. They are not desirous the colonies should accept the sum as a gift to relieve distress among the strikers. Mr. Fitzgerald, the delegate from Australia. has departed for the provinces, in order to raise funds to help the distressed families. WOMEN ~AS~~COUNTY COUNCILLORS. London, November 25. Miss Cobden, who was elected to the London County Council for Tower Hamlets, has been fined for sitting, women having been declared by the decision of the Courts to be ineligible.
