THE WAKAPATU SLUDGE CHANNEL COMPANY.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] In vkrcargill, Monday. A cable from London announces that the Wakapatu Sludge Channel Company has been floated. The channel extends from the beach at Colac Bay, near Riverton, to the Round Hill Diggings, and having been the outlet for all the sludge of the district for years, and the method of saving gold very imperfect, it is believed to contain a large quantity of metal. The floating of the company was placed in the hands of Miss Alice Cornwell, but the promoters sent one of their number Home recently.
