[BY TELEGRAPH. —I'UKSS ASSOCIATION.] Dcnkdix, Tuesday. Tiik annual meeting of the Otago Educational Institute was opened to-day. Mr. Chilton, M.A., was elected president. The retiring president in his address dealt with the subject of the education of girls, after which a discussion was introduced on the subject of individual v. class examination by .Mr. Keid, M.A., who contended that the present system sought immediate results, and was careless of what the lasting benefit would be to the pupils. The discussion was not concluded.
