The officers instigated the 10th Regiment to rebel, and the Government vainly endeavoured to suppress the insurgents. The banks and shops are closed, and business is at a standstill. Desperate fighting has taken place in the streets. The garrison rebelled and the Government troops retreated. The President managed to make his escape to liosnrio. The Finance Minister (Garcia) was taken prisoner and many of the populace were killed. The Revolutionary Government is announced with Arem as President and Romero as Minister of Finance. The revolution is hourly extending, but the Government are holding out. Buenos Ayues, July 25. The Argentine Government lias declared its ability to maintain the financial position. Valparaiso, July 25. The situation in this city is improving. The shops and the Banks, which were closed for fear of further depredations being committed by the strikers, have been re-opened. Valparaiso, July 20. A thousand of the rioters have been imprisoned, and the city is much quieter. ____________
