THE POST OFFCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— l should be glad if anyone could inform me what time letters are supposed to take between suburbs and town, an<J suburb and suburb in Auckland. This las*j week two instances have come before ma which I think merit a little inquiry. One was a letter posted at Archhill on June 15th, informing me of a meeting that I should have attended taking place on the 17th, but as the letter only reached me on the 18th, although addressed to me in town I was naturally unable to attend the meeting. The second instance was of a lettei posted at Newmarket on Sunday night last which only reached my address in Devonport on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock Is this the effect of the imaginary epidemic* supposed to be amongst us now, or is it » sample of the usual despatch in our local post office ?— am, &c.
