Wentworth : 2.50,000 feet sawn kauri (to be loaded at Kaipara). At noon yesterday the Union S.S. Co.'s Mararoa took her departure for the South with passengers and cargo as above. The barque \V. C. Wentworth, Captain Petersen, has cleared at the Customs for Sydney. She will sail to-day for the Otamatea Mills, Kaipara, there to fill up with sawn timber for the Australian port. Yesterday Messrs. Donald and Edenborough's schooner Torea sailed for Raratonga, with a freight of casks, boxes, and timber. The barque Alice, Captain Swain, sailed on "Wednesday from Port Chalmers for Auckland. She has for this port a part cargo of kerosene and American notions from New York. At the Customs yesterday, the Swedish barque, Andrea Wilhelmina, Captain T. K. Bergstedt, was cleared for the port of Hull, England. She takes a full freight of sawn kauri, about 700,000 feet, on behalf of the Kauri Timber Co. The barque was hauled out from her loading berth into the stream, and will probably sail to-day. Mr. Arthur Bergstedt goes as a passenger in the vessel. Early yesterday morning the s.s. lona arrived from Mercury Bay and Tauranga, with passengers and cargo. She sailed at 7 o'clock last evening for Kuaotunu and Mercury Bay, taking with her a new serviceablelooking surf boat, built to the order of the Northern S. S. Co., by Mr. Charles Baiiey for use at Kuaotunu. Yesterday afternoon the signal station on Mount Victoria gave notice of the approach of a barque. The vessel turned out to be the locally owned Notero, Captain Campbell, coal-laden from Newcastle. The barque foiled on June 9 with light S.E. winds,which continued for the first 24 hours. Afterwards strong northerly and easterly winds, with h/vvvy seas, were had to Cape Alalia, which was rounded on the 18th. Cape Brett was -lso passed the same day. Thence to the Kawau light S.W. winds were had. The tug Awhina brought the vessel in, and she anchored in the stream about 10 o'clock. Mrs. and Miss Campbell accompany the E i& per M passengers on the present voyage. 1 he s.s. Wellington returned from her periodical trip to Whangarei to-night. Yesterday evening, at half-past 4 o'clock, the Union Co.'s s.s. Te Anau arrived from Melbourne and Southern ports, with passengers and a mixed freight. She is three days later than usual, owing to being detained at L.yttelton through an. accident. experienced fine weather to Gisborne, thence strong N. W. winds and high sea for the first twelve hours, thence moderate southerly winds and fine weather till arrival. Immediately on being berthed the Tc Anau began to put out her cargo, and during the night sho took in a considerable freight of grain and produce for Sydney, whither she sailed early this morning.
