PRESENTATIONS.
On the 25th of May, at Dunedin, Bishop Moran was presented by his congregation with an address on the occasion of the Cathedral being freed from debt, and his own 72nd birthday, which took place on May 24. The employees of Messrs. Win. MeArthur and Co., on May 24, presented to Mr. Knight, one of their number, a handsome marble clock and dessert set on the occasion of his coming marriage with Miss Rutherford, of Dunedin. The firm also presented Mr. Knight with a silver tea and coffee service, suitably engraved. Mr. Knight left for Dunedin on May 26. On June 3 Miss Reeve, the conductor of the Auckland Ladies' Orchestra, and her sister, Miss Josephine Reeve, were the recipients of presentations from the other members of that body, as they are about to leave Auckland for Christcburch. The ceremony took place in the Choral Hall, and all the ladies comprising the orchestra were present. The gift to Miss Reeve was a handsome cabinet of New Zealand woods, whilst Miss J. Reeve received a gold brooch. Miss Lucy Harrison made the presentations in a neat speech. Both the recipients replied with grateful expressions for the uniform kindness shown them, and with the best wishes for the future welfare of the Young Ladies Orchestra. ~. One of the teachers of the Parnell public school, Miss Mclntyre, severed her connection with the school on May 30, as she is about to proceed to Melbourne to enter on a life-long engagement. Prior to her departure she was presented by the pupils of her class and some of her fellow-teachers with a very handsome album. The presentation was made by Mr. Leonard, the head teacher. Miss Mclntyre said she hardly knew what to say, bub she was very pleased and thought the present & verv beautiful one,
e=- —= A meeting of Presbyterians was held the Other evening in St. Andrew's Church, when Mr. B. McPherson, city missionary, visa presented with a purse of money by bis friends as an expression of their satisfaction at the good work ho has done in Auckland. A gold watch was presented by the choirs of the Howick Roman Catholic Church to Mr. James O'Halloran, their leader, on his marriage to Miss Honan, organist at the Panmure Church.
