MORE VICTORIES. Prets Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Sydney, June 15. At the Eastern Suburban Sports, Sydney, R. B. Lusk (Auckland) won the 120 yards Hurdles Race in 20 seconds. Peter Wood (Christchurch) won the Quarter Mile Plate in 52 2-sth seconds, and D. Wood (Christchurch) won the Mile Steeplechase. From latest Sydney files we glean the following regarding the movements of the New Zealand athletic team over there :— The New Zealand and Queensland amateur athletes, together with several Sydney athletes and cyclists, were the euests of Mr. B. R. Wise, president of the Sydney Harriers, on the evening of the sth instant, to dinner at the Atheiuvuni Club. Afterwards the 1 tarty visited the Alhambra Music Hall, at the invitation of Mr. Frank Smith. On Wednesday the visitors were the guests of _ the Roslyn Gardens Amateur Athletic Club, at the Theatre Royal, and afterwards at a champagne supper. The Eastern Suburbs Amateur Athletic Clubs meeting, in which many of the Maorilanders were engaged, was to have taken place on the 7th instant, but had to be postponed because of bad weather. Concerning the events, the following remarks were made on the evening previous to the date fixed for the races : —Macpherson is in good form, and hopes to lower the 220 yards record. He will also compete in the 150 and 4-10 yards events. P. Morrison is training carefully at Botany, and has announced his intention of trying to lower the half-mile and one mile records, and the race between him and Ferguson in the half-mile will be worth witnessing. The steeplechase will prove a good race. McKelvey and Bullock will compete from scratch in the one-mile walk, as although the latter has been allotted five seconds start he will not accept any handicap.
