A FOSSIL BRIDEGROOM.
WEDDING OF A MILLIONAIRE OF EIGHTY-SEVEN. Ridgefield (Conn.), April 16. —A sensational marriage took place to-day at Lewisboro, N. Y. The principals are Gould Rockwell, a millioniire and retired business man, 87 years old, and Miss Mamie Louise do Levane, a blushing, rosy-cheeked blonde, just out of her teen, whose home was in Ulster County, N.Y. The ceremony was performed at twelve o'clock .by Rev. Charles Selleck, rector of St. Paul's Church. The bridal party was driven to the railroad station, where the rickety old gentleman and his young bride took the train for the town of Western. A crowd of curious villagers cheered the couple lustily as the train moved out of the station, and the bursting of several dozens of torpedoes placed on the track by enthusiastic railroad employes, together with the tooting of locomotives, made a terrific send-off for the happy pair. Gould Rockwell spent his early life in mercantile business at Troy, N.Y. There he met his first wife, an heiress, and the money he had accumulated added to that of his wife mai|e the couple wealthy. He retired from active business forty years ago. His first wife died fifteen years ago, and he was left entirely alone in the world. To the surprise of everybody in this vicinity, Gould Rockwell opened his heart to the extent of 65,000d015. to the little woman who is now his bride. Those in a position to know say that the present Mrs. Rockwell asserted that no man could marry her without first mating over a handsome sum.
